in the Lake District

Newlands Round
Approx 8 miles. 5/6 hours. Strenuous.
A superb ridge walk taking in High Spy, Maiden Moor, Dale Head & Hindscarth.
Walla Crag via Castle Head & Ashness Bridge
Approx 6.5 miles. 4 hours. A perfect half day walk to some of the most interesting sites around Keswick.

The Coledale Round
Approx 9 miles. 6 hours. Strenuous.
A full day on the fells with 1347m of ascent. Starting in Braithwaite and taking in the summits of Grisedale Pike, Hopegill Head, Crag Hill and Barrow.

Derwentwater Circuit
Approx 9 miles. 4 hours + stops. Easy. Mostly on good level paths.
A great walk for any newcomer to Keswick or a gentle low level day.
Many highlights as the view is always changing during the circuit.
Take a picnic and make a day of it.

 

Cat Bells and Derwentwater Lakeshore
Approx 3.5 miles/5.7kms. 3 hours plus stops. Moderate
A must do walk for every visitor to Keswick who aspires to climb the fells. This is an easy one and one of the best.
