Flooding in Keswick January 2005
When nine inches of rain fell in 36 hours flooding occurred on a scale not seen for forty years. Many houses were evacuated as rivers peaked and damage caused to bridges and boats as can be seen in photos below.
High winds gusting at 70/80mph caused substantial damage in Keswick, bringing down trees and roof tiles, chimney pots, masonary etc caused damage to cars as they fell.
