Lakes and Tarns
Clearly it is the areas of water that give name to the National Park.
Below are a collection of photos of some of the areas of water in the Lake District.
A Tarn is simply a body of water in the hills, or at least away from the valley bottom.
Living beside Derwentwater it is difficuly not to record it in all its changing glory and all it's changing moods. So apologies for many photos from "The Jewel of the Lakes"
